About

What this site is for

MapleDeal is a free site about Canadian credit cards: what the welcome offers are right now, which card earns the most for each kind of spending, and what an offer is worth after the fee. The data pages and tools are in English. The long guides and the weekly picks are in Chinese.

Where the information comes from

I usually check welcome offers against the issuers' websites once a week. Each entry shows the date it was checked and the page I read it on, and you can click “See the source page” to check the live details yourself.

  • Verified: seen on the issuer's own page.
  • Second-hand: not found on the issuer's site, so I use what another site reported recently.
  • Not verified yet: imported data that hasn't been checked entry by entry.

The latest check was on October 11, 2026. 194 cards have been checked so far, out of 204 in the card library. I add the rest in batches.

How the site makes money

No link on this site earns a commission from a card issuer. Every application link goes straight to the issuer's website. A few of the Chinese guides include my own invite link, and each one is labelled. If I join a referral program later, links that carry a commission will be clearly labelled. Where a card ranks, and whether I call it worth getting, depends only on whether it is good for you, not on any commission. The details are in the Affiliate disclosure.

Site analytics

This site uses two things to see how it is used, and both are only used to improve the site. The first is Google Analytics. It stores a cookie in your browser, except by default for visitors in Quebec, Europe and the UK. Advertising features are turned off, and this data is not used to show you ads. The second is a visit log the site keeps itself: which page was opened, which site you came from, how long you stayed, where on the page you clicked, roughly which city you're in, and what device you use. This log uses no cookies and does not store your IP address. It only puts a random ID in your browser, which is used to tell whether it is the same visitor. The detailed records are kept for at most 400 days. If your browser has "Do Not Track" turned on, neither one counts you. The cards you tick and the numbers you enter in the tools are calculated only in your own browser and are not uploaded. The site only knows that someone used the tool.

Please note

This is information I compile and share personally. It is not financial advice for your situation. For the exact official terms, the rewards, and whether you'll be approved, go by the issuer's website and the documents the bank sends you. If you see a mistake, write to [email protected]. If you have a deal or a change to a welcome offer to tell me about, use the send a tip page (in Chinese).
